Become a Certified Agile Aging® instructor!
Whether you are a caregiver, a fitness instructor, an activity leader, or an individual looking for a path to bring healing and wellness to your community and financial benefits to yourself, you can become trained and certified in the unique Agile Aging® approach.
Agile Aging® Training is a four-step process.
1. Introduction to Agile Aging® Workshop - a one-day seminar. Upcoming dates below.
2. Instructor Training intensives on-site with Valerie Baadh Garrett - this 16 hour program gives the basics of the 12 exercises used in each class, including seasonal imagery, music, 12 week seasonal progression, and all accompanying resources. Upcoming dates below.
3. Practicum and Demo Class - each trainee must teach a full 60-minute class either in an existing Agile Aging® program in the community, or in their own community. This class will be videoed, observed in person (if possible) and critiqued by Agile Aging® Director Valerie Baadh Garrett.
If the standards and criteria of Agile Aging® are achieved, the trainee will receive certification and license to teach Agile Aging for two years from date of certification as well as permission to use the Agile Aging® logo and web resources.
4 During the first year of licensing, the trainee must participate in three consecutive seasonal video webinars for new seasonal imagery and music themes, and ongoing supportive education.
Licenses may be renewed after two years, with 10 hours of continuing education that must include an Agile Aging refresher.
The individual cost of Agile Aging®, through all four steps of certification and two-year licensing, is $750. License renewal is $150 in January of year two. For instance, if you complete your certification in 2010, your license will be up for renewal in January, 2013.
