What kinds of programs are offered for adults?

Valerie offers private movement coaching and therapeutic movement in the studio, home, or office to help you look, feel and live better in your body.  Small group classes are also available, as well as workshops for organizations, conferences, and retreats.

Why would I need "movement coaching?

Personal movement coaching works closely with each client's movement to:

     • bring harmony and balance to your posture, gestures, walking, and everyday activities
     • increase professional presence in the workplace or public sphere
     • improve unconscious or outgrown body language that may send
mixed or unwanted
       messages

What is "therapeutic movement?"

Clients find significant benefits in a six-week course of weekly sessions to help gain recovery and relief from:

    • chronic illness or conditions, such as lymphedema
    • muscle or skeletal pain or injury, such as frozen shoulder, back or leg pain
    • weakness and range of motion limitations from surgery, including breast cancer, or
    • debilitating issues such as stress and tension, menopause or depression. 

Are there any programs available just for women?

Valerie works with the Fourfold Healing Clinic to provide holistic approaches through which women may find natural relief from issues of menopause. This program includes an initial evaluation with Dr. Tom  Cowan, as well as work with nutrition, movement, Chinese herbs and acupuncture.

What methods does Valerie use?

Valerie employs Spacial Dynamics exercises and personal movement analysis to assist adults toward improved vitality, optimism, balance, security, stamina, strength and flexibility. Using Spacial Dynamics, Valerie has worked with clients to reduce muscular and skeletal pain, including TMJ, headaches, shoulder stiffness, back aches, and hand and foot issues. Older adults experience benefits from Valerie's Agile Aging-Fall Prevention Class.
